“Is Your Work Worth It?” – Book review seminar for the U.Navarra Work, Care and Development Research Group

Christopher Wong Michaelson and Jennifer Tosti-Kharas provided us with a lot of ideas for an insightful conversation thanks to their book “Is Your Work Worth It?”

The quality and quantity of questions that this book asks will make you think.

I thank Ana Marta González González, head of the “Work, Care and Development” Research Group of the University of Navarra for the idea of running the seminar series of this academic year through book reviews. It definitely enriched my bookshelf and reading list. And thanks to my friends and colleagues Beatriz Simón Yarza, Sergio Clavero, Andrés Lucas Jaramillo and the other members of the group for taking part in an engaging conversation.

Virtue as Competence seminar for London South Bank University

Thank you Craig Duckworth for the opportunity to present our latest British Journal of Management article to the London South Bank University Entrepreneurship and the Future of Work Research Group. We spoke about #virtue as #competence, and discovered why the talk was about #superpowers and how to make our business school places where students can become the best version of themselves.
Great to interact with Jingnan Li, Steve Hoyle, Felipe Villasuso Lago, Malcolm Brady, Fiona Wheeler and all the others. Thanks again!

Guest Lectures at IESE Business School, Madrid

Back in Dublin after two days at IESE Business School, on their spectacular Madrid campus, I want to thank Oscar Gonzalez Peralta for the opportunity to meet his Master in Management students and for the work together to merge our styles and prepare the sessions. It was also nice to meet other friends on the way, and ask for wisdom – thank you Ricardo Calleja! Invited Presentation at the R:ETRO Symposium, Oxford Centre for Corporate Reputation

The Oxford University Centre for Corporate Reputation hosted the R:ETRO Symposium from July 2 to July 4, 2023: Alan Morrison and Rita Mota are the extraordinary co-conveners of this initiative, which managed to create a fantastic community of scholars over the past years. I want to express to them, and to Rupert Younger, whom I finally had the pleasure to meet in person, gratitude for this event which brought us together after an academic year of online seminars. Special thanks to Rachel Best and Hannah Cooper for making the event possible.
It was wonderful to meet old and new friends; I collected some pictures here.
I had the opportunity to present the article co-authored with Pablo Garcia Ruiz (Universidad de Zaragoza). Edward David, DPhil had the patience to read it and be an extraordinary discussant: thank you Edward, and thank you all for the constructive comments and feedback.
Now we are looking forward to seeing what Alan and Rita are preparing for the next academic year – #staytuned
Thank you!
